Celebration of Our Vets @ WOHS

S2S students coordinated this event to honor our military students and their families.  The WOHS students and NSHS cadets arrived early that morning to celebrate our veterans and their families represented here at WOHS.  S2S students and others held posters, flags, and cheered as cars arrived at WOHS.  Pastor Jones of Marshall Chapel Missionary Baptist Church lead everyone in a prayer of blessing over our military families.  Lastly, NSHS cadets performed a raise the flag ceremony.

This video was constructed during Countdown To College and Career Day at WOHS during NC College Application Week.  It displays WOHS school counselors and our Career Development Coordinator working together to assist students in college planning, exploring career choices, and having the opportunity to meet with employers as well as military personnel.  WOHS Student Services Department focused on meeting the goal of offering a comprehensive approach to meeting the needs of ALL graduating seniors.

New Student Orientation

2023-2024

Here are some new pictures from the 2023-2024 school year New Student Orientation that WOHS S2S group conducts each school year.  Military students are given the opportunity to win a separate prize beyond what our remaining new students can win.

It is a great opportunity for new students to mingle and enjoy meeting other students at WOHS in a safe space.  The goal is always to make EVERY new student feel the love and family spirit at WOHS.   Throughout the event new students participated in activities which encouraged interaction and won prizes in games of some fierce competition.  We were able to serve between 40 to 50 new students during the event.

WOHS Choir participated in the Freedom Fountain Ceremony this year on November 3, 2023, directed by the talented Mrs. Hillary Goodson Spear.  The fountain has become this community's visual, tangible, and meaningful symbol of awareness, interdependence, commitment and appreciation for those who know the price of freedom and who pay that price daily.
