School Social Worker
Mrs. Jerika Koufie
School Social Worker
HELLO! My name is Jerika Koufie, and I am your School Social Worker at White Oak High. I have been a social worker for twelve years, and I truly love what I do. I hold a bachelor’s in social work from Ashland University and am a licensed school social worker in the state of North Carolina. My experience includes six years in child welfare, two years with NC Early Intervention and this will be my fourth year as a school social worker.
Outside of work, I am a proud Mom of two beautiful girls, aged two and four, who keep me on my toes and make every day an adventure. I am also married to an amazing husband; and together we enjoy spending quality time as a family.
I saw a quote that said, “Real social work isn’t about saving people, but empowering them to save themselves”. This has always been and will be my goal as a social worker. My hope and prayers are to be a valuable resource for students and their family, bridging the gap between home, school and the community. GO VIKINGS!!
